How spaced repetition helps words stick

Panjabi Go reviews words just as you are about to forget them, so they move into long-term memory.

Ever crammed for something and forgotten it a week later? Spaced repetition is the antidote, and it is built into how Panjabi Go teaches.

What spaced repetition is

When you learn a new word, you start to forget it almost immediately - unless you see it again. Spaced repetition times your reviews to bring each word back just as you are about to forget it. Each successful review pushes the next one further out, until the word is firmly in long-term memory.

Why it matters for Panjabi

It means you are not wasting time on words you already know well, and you are not losing words you learned last week. The app quietly handles the scheduling, so you can focus on learning while the system makes sure it sticks.

You do not have to manage it

There is nothing to set up. Open Daily Review in the Practice menu, and the app shows you the words that are due today. The Read plan includes 10 reviews a day, Speak 50, and Fluent has no limit. A Review Reminder can tell you when it is time. See Building a daily habit.

What this means if you take a break

Because reviews are scheduled rather than crammed, a few days away does not undo your progress. When you return, Daily Review shows you the words that are due.
